The first payment of the donation of R40 000

The first installment of a total donation of R40 000 to four Transvaal universities by Nasionale Pers, was handed over to the rectors of the universities by Adv. D.P. de Villiers, SA managing director of Nasionale Pers. The four Rectors who received cheques were, Prof. G. van N. Viljoen of the RAU, Prof. C. H. Rautenbach from the University of Pretoria, Prof. S. Pauw of the University of South Africa and Prof. H.J.J. Bingle of the Potchefstroom University. In the photo prof. Viljoen receives the cheque for RAU from Adv. D.P. de Villiers.
