Inaugural lecture--Department of Mathematics, Rand Afrikaans University, 10 May 1971@@The development and methods of Euclidean and nonEuclidean, affine and projective geometry, and topology are sketched. Further, the ideas of Felix Klein should be introduced at high school level.
